Vehicle Description 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe 302 J-Code, Project This listing is for a 1968 Mustang J-Code.
It came from the Dearborn factory with a 302 4bbl, Candyapple red paint with Parchment interior, black-out hood treatment, a 4-speed manual transmission, and a 3.
00 limited slip rear axle.
At 51 years old, this car needs a lot of work - but there are still some solid parts.
I bought it in 1999 and drove it as a daily driver for 4 years.
It still has the original paint, though with surface rust in some places.
Today, the car has a replacement 302 block, and a 3-speed manual transmission.
I had an engine built/rebuilt in 2004 and this motor only has a few thousand miles on it.
It was shipped to a dealer in Nebraska and still has the original dealer badge on it.
There was an event when rear driver wheel came off the axle and damaged the quarter panel, wheel well, and trunk dropoff.
This is a list of sheet metal that needs to be fixed and/or replaced:

It needs interior work, headliner, front seat foam and upholstery.
The back seat is in good shape.
Carpet is good.
Dashboard is good, needs a new dash pad.
There's nothing wrong with the tranny but I'd replace with a 4-speed to make it correct and get better mileage.
I just replaced the fuel tank and sending unit.
