Vintage Luxman K-111 Tape Cassette Deck Player Recorder HX for sale in Denver, CO
This is a very good sounding and sleek looking cassette deck that was Made in Japan by the high end producer Luxman. It benefits being from the latter generation of decks that is of excellent build and peak sound quality for the format. Full Logic Controls with Dolby B and C noise reduction and HX Pro (a very effective variable bias scheme that noticeable improves frequency response and dynamic range). The peak meters are fast acting LEDs in amber and red. Options to bias Normal, Chrome and Metal tapes. There is a headphone jack for monitoring and Mic jacks too (these are often not on this generation of decks). Luxman being a more expensive brand offers some noteworthy enhancements on this deck. The heads are excellent Hexalam units and the Dolby circuitry uses premium components, specifically OFC coils. These eliminates NR artifacts and delivers a more natural sounding Dolby execution. Sound quality was paramount for Luxman, so here is a fixed head design that avoids all the performance hits that auto reverse decks suffer. The front faceplate is also a nice brushed and anodized alloy metal unlike many lesser decks that used ABS plastics. Very clean inside and out. This deck had minimal use and functions and sounds very good. Nothing is more important when selecting a vintage deck than it being clean and having seen light use.
