Purchasing Coordinator
Summary
The Outside Processing/Purchasing Coordinator will coordinate the timely processing and delivery of material from processor to customer:
both internal and external.
Manage core processors and improve existing performance metrics:
on-time delivery (past due orders), aged inventory (WIP, FG) and inventory reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Timely purchase orders delivery and management
- Manages inventory control and reconciliations related to assigned accounts
- In some circumstances, acts as single point customer service rep to end customer
- Monitors processor performance related to quality and delivery
- Provides timely completion of deliverables, milestones, and required tasks
- Coordinates purchase orders requirements from internal stakeholders to assigned processors - this includes all system inputs and information transfer
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Experience
- Ability to manage a large daily book order
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces
- Strong oral & written communications
- Basic technical knowledge of various steel grades & steel market
- Ability to motivate & convince others, especially regarding conflicting points of view
- Detail oriented
- Strong PC skills
- Flexible & adaptable to change
- Self-motivated & possesses the ability to complete tasks on time & with little supervision
- Knowledge of steel industry or equivalent experience; preferred commercial, customer service or purchasing experience
- Order management ERP experience preferred
