Supervisory Auditor

As a Supervisory Auditor, you will:
Be responsible for planning, programming, conducting and managing multiple audits or segments of audits for departmental programs and organizational elements for acquisition and grants audits, economy and efficiency reviews and program results reviews. Assist in planning and coordinating the audit work, reviewing audit products, developing operating policies and procedures, and monitoring the staff in performing assigned audit responsibilities. Establish audit priorities for departmental programs, assess the feasibility of proposed audits in scope and format, make decisions on the number and type of audit staff necessary to complete the audit or segments of audits and determine the type and qualifications of experts or consultants to assist with audits. Provide expert professional and technical advice on accounting principles and audit theory to audit team leaders and staff. Provide direction to audit team leaders for activities of the assigned staff. There is ONE position located in either Silver Spring, MD/Washington, DC/Atlanta, GA/Seattle, WA/Denver, CO. Experience:
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Planning and coordination of audits and evaluations; AND Providing advisory and guidance on auditing and/or financial management activities; AND Resolving complex auditing/financial management problems; AND Communicating in writing and in person to a variety of audiences; AND Managing/leading professionals in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.Time After Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
