Software Developer 4

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Required Skills &
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
Relevant experience of 3 to 10 years.
Solid working experience on Unix/Linux and in writing sql
Troubleshooting experience on entire layers from network to software
Understanding of how web based applications and deployed and managed
Experience in setting up and using server configuration and management solutions such as Puppet, Ansible or Chef, GIT.
Working knowledge of automation using scripting languages like Perl or Unix
Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, bash, php, nodes.js, Hadoop, Hbase, Jetty, Spark etc
Experience using monitoring systems ( Oracle Enterprise Management, RUEI, Cloudwatch, ThousandEyes etc )
Understanding of Unix/Linux systems, taking in system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols along the way.
Working knowledge of web applications, http requests/responses, headers, response codes, Basic web development experience a plus.
Strong grasp of internet network concepts, protocols and associated serviced (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP/SFTP, DNS, SSH, NFS, CIFS, ICMP).
Understanding of load balancing clusters, server load balancing, firewalls, routing and VLANs.
Experience in a production support role that includes monitoring systems for 24x7 availability and performance issues.
Knowledge of working with RESTful services.

Job Description:
Learn and use innovative technologies to automate the provisioning, patching, upgrade and monitoring of cloud services.
Research, experiment and design solutions to support the deployment of new cloud services
Troubleshoot integration issues during on-boarding of new services, deployment and customer issues.
Document processes, solutions, runbooks
Monitor customer and monitoring issues and provide L2 support, working with software engineering if necessary, in resolving issues
Automate any manual steps required to install, configure, maintain, operate and support the service
Interact with management, internal operation teams, software engineering and external customers to provide updates on system availability, scheduled maintenance and manage execution of periodic releases.
Participate in a 24x7 production support rotation (P1 and Systems Monitoring). The frequency of participation is dependent on the size of the team in the analyst's geographical region.
Occasionally, you may be asked to work weekends in addition to production support rotation to perform major production activities like upgrades.
