Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting bid documents to determine Scope of Work and works with the team to formulate the estimating approach and bid strategy.
Responsible for calculating and preparing complete quantity take offs, material price lists, labor costs per hour, equipment, and other information.
Routinely maintains accurate, complete and updated project plans, specifications, correspondence and estimating documentation of quantity take-offs as well as pricing data on projects, subcontractors, and suppliers
Maintain a current understanding on the electrical construction market in Colorado and all other areas of focus for the organization.
Effectively communicates information regarding project risks, challenges, and opportunities in a clear, concise, courteous, and professional manner to customers and coworkers.
Must be an effective communicator, and be able to provide professional feedback to groups and individuals.
Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal (day-to-day) routine as well as be accepting of changes in overall company strategy.
Utilize Accubid, Live Count, advanced Excel spreadsheets and Bluebeam on a consistent basis.
Must be able to perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience should include demonstrated ability to estimate projects valued at $5 15 million.
Successfully worked with customers and design teams on design build and design assist projects.
Experience in estimating large scale healthcare, datacenter, laboratory, and high rise projects
Estimating Oil and Gas projects is a plus.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Estimating Techniques and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
Must have ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills required working in a corporate team environment
Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work; communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing; while establishing and maintaining effective and positive working relationships.
Ability to use Microsoft Office, Projects, Word and Excel to develop professional documents; edit and proof written materials; prepare and maintain complete reports and records. Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions:
Your time will be split between working on construction sites and working in a typical office environment. While at construction sites, you will encounter conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
