Systems Support Engineer

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is desirable. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Necessary skills:
LTE and Microwave Engineering Background
Strong Linux and Windows Server background
Experience in RF Network Planning and Optimization
Familiarity with US and international RF spectrums
Ability to supervise a project and an installation team engaged in deploying RAN sites
RF network design experience using common RF planning tools such as Mentum Planet
Strong knowledge of IP network design, switching, and routing
Ability to analyze IP Packet capture recognizing faults and taking corrective action to associated equipment (firewalls, routers, etc.)
Strong knowledge of TCP/UDP ports and protocols
Ability to produce documentation that outlines processes, configuration and test procedures used to troubleshoot and configure LTE equipment
Ability to author and execute IP/RF Network Test Plans
Ability to produce and deliver training materials for LTE products one-on-one or to groups twenty or less
Multi-tasking self-starter with the ability to learn independently and apply knowledge to implement changes in GD-MS technology
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a qualified LTE Systems Support Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to design, implement, troubleshoot and repair LTE data networks and peripheral devices operating in the commercial, military, or public safety frequency bands. This is a customer facing role with a user community that includes the US DOD, Law Enforcement community, first responders and commercial organizations including news services and sports networks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that learns independently. General duties include documentation of equipment operation, assistance during proposal efforts, gathering customer requirements, project planning, upgrade to existing LTE systems, installation of new systems, and troubleshooting/repair of existing systems. Strong written and oral skills, RF planning and deployment skills, organizational abilities, as well as interpersonal skills are needed. Travel for 50% (or more) of the time including some international travel is required.
As a System Support Engineer for LTE wireless networks you will have responsibility for:
Customer Post-Sales Tier-3 support for LTE products
Customer Post-Sales Tier-1, 2 and 3 support for legacy TD-CDMA products
Deployment support to customer sites for installation or repair of equipment
Pre-Sales demonstration support
Pre-deployment configuration and staging of LTE equipment in support of pre-sales and post-sales requirements
Performing IOT testing when required
Handling, analysing and resolving Trouble Tickets
Supporting customers through training and site assistance visits
Write and maintain training material and operations guides
Supporting customer trials and demonstration events with some overseas travel
Supporting system test activities, as required.
Building a test environment to mimic customer operational scenarios
Prepare LTE hardware, software and associated network equipment for use with existing installation manuals
