Job Description:
The prep cook is an individual who assists the chef in preparing the food, ensures the cooking environment is clean and safe for all staff members and takes on culinary tasks as they arise. They assist in the preparation of dishes in the kitchen. Performs routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so food can be prepared according to recipes. Follow the recipes created by chefs. Experience working as a line cook in a fast paced restaurant is a requirement. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned. High School diploma or GED. Proven experience as a prep cook. Experience overseeing the health and safety rules in a kitchen. Required
Experience: Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team oriented environment. Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively. Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations. Proficiency required in reading and writing. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs, perform essential job functions such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing on ladder, and walking long distances. Standing for long periods of time and the ability to work in environment with varying temperatures. PIEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
