Job Description:
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in CS, IT, Engineering or related technology
2 years related experience (A Masters Degree in the above disciplines counts as 2 years)
Experience performing Linux system administration.
Some administration of Solaris systems.
Development of Bourne and Perl scripts.
Unpaid overtime may be required.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Literate, self-directed problem solver, sociable, quick learner
Exposure to network device management.
Web content and CGI development.
NOTE: Relocation is available.
This is an entry level professional position
Note: If candidate is selected for further screening, candidate must supply an unofficial college transcript upon the request of ULA (degree from current or most recent college must be validated). If a candidate is extended an offer and accepts the offer, ULA must receive an official college transcript from the college Registrar department validating the degree granted before the candidate starts at ULA.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
