Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated, Lead Software Engineer to join an agile development team responsible for building applications targeted at extending security technology capabilities onto mobile devices. The ideal candidate should have proven experience building high quality, mobile applications using the latest technologies. This candidate should also have experience leading projects and teams (direct and indirect reports). The candidate will play an important role in the definition and development of applications that are leveraged extensively throughout the company web, mobile and desktop product portfolios.
- Responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, evaluating, and documenting new application development on mobile platforms.
- Active member of a highly skilled and motivated agile development team
- Lead projects from a software perspective. Drive ownership and accountability among the team.
- Work with agile/scrum team to deliver solutions on time and at high quality that conform to user story acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them to elegant implementation.
- Design and implement highly quality mobile applications
- Interfacing with overseas counterparts frequently to resolve issues.
- Peer reviews for code and design
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree required (EE or CS preferred). Masters Degree a plus

years of software engineering experience
- 4
years of experience building native mobile applications on iOS or Android
- published Android apps including Smart Phones and Tablets
- building mobile applications on Windows Phone is a plus
- Solid understanding of software design patterns
- Strong experience with mobile relational data stores
- Familiarity with agile/scrum development processes and methodologies
- Expert level experience with Java, Objective-C and other languages a plus
- Work with a team to produce full documentation of design and unit test cases. Utilize systems approach tools such as functional block diagrams, flow diagrams, simulations, fault tree analysis, state-diagrams, and others as required in product development.
- Strong leadership experience, proven results driving teams to deliverables.
- UML expertise a plus.
- Passion for building high quality software with extensive experience in unit testing and test driven development
- Solid understanding of techniques to achieve high quality user experience.
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Must demonstrate flexibility for work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Android SDK, SQLite, and associated APIs
- Experience with REST, SOAP JSON, and XML web services
- Experience with building mobile app that interacts with scalable, reliable and secure web services
- Good system level debugging skills are an advantage.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple projects to completion on schedule in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Willing to travel occasionally
