Job Summary Under close supervision, provides cleaning, bed linen change out, floor care, moving, grounds and project services as directed by supervisor. May also perform specific interior and exterior Medical Housekeeping cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital/clinics. The individual may be assigned to any one of several positions to include: patient area cleaner, non-patient area cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others Minimum
Qualifications Education: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
Experience: Typically, six months prior custodial experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safety work environment. Knowledge of chemicals and equipment used to clean surface areas sufficient to be able to maintain a clean and orderly work area. Knowledge of proper cleaning methods. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn occasional hazards and safety precautions. Skill in understanding and following oral, illustrated, written or demonstrated instructions. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work within Health Department standards.
Command of English strongly preferred. Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
