GIS employs a diligent and highly effective team of professionals to enhance the timely resolution of investigations thus protecting AIG and its customers from perpetrators of insurance fraud in any form.
The GIS team currently has over 100 members globally and the healthy pipeline of work has resulted in the need to continue to expand the team.
?The position of Business Analyst will require strong skills in working with key business stakeholders in order to support the creation and development of all MI business requirements and database solutions.
?It also focuses on the development and implementation of data analytics and a continuous monitoring infrastructure to enhance current reporting practices and proactively identify trends, leakage results and internal control issues.
?Collaborate with the all GIS Divisions to ensure detailed understanding of the requirements which therefore results in timely and accurate delivery of reporting and analytical tools.
?Creatively problem solving complex business and data challenges.
?The data within the GIS team is used not only by analysts within the GIS team, but to underpin valuable global analytical tools and data visualizations. As a result, this role is of critical important to multiple users within the wider company.

? Broad based global insurance industry experience including overseas markets
? Extensive experience with data analysis and preparation techniques & experience with very large data sets
? Strong analytical skills and knowledge of fraud drivers of insurance
? Data model design expertise
? High level SQL and SAS skills
? Strong process and systems skills and attention to detail
? Strong execution and results orientation
? Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed & ability to identify issues and work to resolve them in partnership with business leaders
? Review accuracy, consistency and applicability of department data usage
? Work with data suppliers to ensure accuracy and ease of translation to appropriate formats. Implement enhancements as needed
?Spearhead effective data collection - by being the voice of analysis data users on new products, new systems and updates to data processes
?Participate in corporate data initiatives & keep abreast of current technological resources and tools including third party vendors of data and data mining tools as well as actuarial and statistical techniques to improve analysis preparation and use of data
?Maintain accurate documentation of all work suitable for compliance examiners to audit.
?Inform management of limitations of work, data constraints, as well as potential adverse and favourable events

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
