Job Summary Under general supervision, collects, delivers and processes laboratory specimens which are utilized in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of physical conditions. Accessions patient specimens and related patient demographic information and collates with physician orders. Performs and records results of moderately complex and waived testing, performs and records QC and maintains instrumentation. Minimum
Qualifications Education: Graduation from High School or possession of a GED certificate. Prefer successful
completion of medical assistant training but will accept phlebotomy certificate with 2 years of
hospital/medical lab technician experience.
Experience: Typically, two years experience as a laboratory technician in a medical laboratory, ,
medical clinic or reference laboratory.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of moderately complex and/or waived laboratory tests
processes. Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment. Knowledge of quality control
procedures to maintain/ensure testing integrity. Ability to handle patient specimens and laboratory
equipment. Knowledge of laboratory testing protocols, to maintain the expected level of competency.
Knowledge of safety and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment of care.
Certificate/License/Registration: Some positions may require a Colorado Class R driver's license
at the time of application. Meet CLIA educational level requirements for specific job duties at time of
