Compliance Officer

Third Way Center, a Residential Child Care Treatment Center, is looking for a fulltime Compliance Officer. The Compliance Officer will serve as the agency's compliance officer and will lead all quality assurance and compliance functions. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that Third Way Center is in compliance with all licensing rules, contract requirements, and accreditation standards. The compliance officer works in collaboration with the Clinical and the Admin team, and is directly responsible to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
The Compliance Officer will:
Serve as subject matter expert on regulatory agencies rules and regulations.
Ensure compliance with State and local regulatory agencies rules and regulations.
Attend regulatory audits when possible to stay informed of any negative findings and assist Treatment staff in determining the best response for achieving compliance.
Attend DYS monthly policy review committee meetings.
Circulate between all Third Way Center facilities to do on site inspections of client files and the physical plant to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Compile and submit written responses of audit findings to the appropriate State agency.
Lead the Quality Assurance Team, which meets monthly to review Critical Incidents and Grievances. Provide minutes of the monthly meetings to senior staff.
Review the required documentation within the client files and provide feedback for any strengths or weaknesses found regarding record keeping.
Manage and update the Critical Incident Guide and enter all Critical Incident reports into the agency database. Serve as the on-call point of contact for staff regarding incidents that remain unclear on how they need to be reported.
Enter required Critical Incident reports into the state Trails database and submit electronic report form to agencies when necessary.
Monitor the overnight census for accurate completion and serve as liaison between finance and the houses regarding census tracking.
Conduct periodic training at the houses on Critical Incidents and Quality Assurance initiatives.
Compile a year-end summary of critical incidents throughout the agency and submit to senior staff.
Serve as the HIPAA Compliance officer
Conduct agency risk assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
The Compliance Officer shall have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and three years of administrative experience in the field of social services.
Must have knowledge and proficiency in interpreting DYS policies and Department of Human Services rules.
The ability and competence to work independently and to handle a variety of tasks and assignments concurrently.
High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
Strong analytical, communication, detail oriented, & time management skills.
Solid work ethic.
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to provide training on policies and procedures.
Excellent reading and writing skills to understand and interpret rules, and regulations, and communicate it to staff when appropriate
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowrePoint, Access), Gmail.
Must be able to pass extensive background check, including CBI/FBI and Trails and fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (fully vaccinated meaning the first two vaccinations in the series)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
