About The Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging
The Paul Freeman Financial Security Program studies and creates solutions for issues confronting a rapidly aging population, and is housed within the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging (KIHA). KIHA is a cross-campus interdisciplinary institute that has the following Vision: Quality in Life, Wellness and Community. The Institute coordinates team science at DU and collaborates with other companies, institutions, and government to enhance the quality of life for older adults.
Position Summary
The Research Coordinator will work with a lead researcher to support current research projects and initiatives. They will support the programs research projects including the research design, recruitment, implementation, and analysis.
This is a temporary, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
Conduct qualitative interviews, coding, and analysis
Facilitate recruitment and enrollment for research studies
Assist lead researcher in conducting research
Assist lead researcher in coordinating projects
Interest in learning about the challenges of diverse populations, and social determinants of health
Interest in learning research methods in well-being and aging
Survey development and data collection
Superior interpersonal skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Experience in basic administrative tasks
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Initiative, follow-through and reliability
Must be an adaptable, multi-tasking, problem-solver while showing flexibility and being an independent worker
Knowledge of diverse populations including aging adults
Knowledge of social determinants of health
Specific interest in aging and older adults
Superior interpersonal skills with diverse populations
Required Qualifications
A master's degree in gerontology, social work, psychology, or related aging field
Experience and interest in research
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with community outreach
Previous experience working with research participant recruitment
Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions
Working Environment
Standard office environment
Noise level is moderate to high
Physical Activities
Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance
Work Schedule
The duration of this position is 1 year, contingent on funding. This position will work 10-19 hours a week.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for the position is $21.00 - $23.00.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
