The Deputy Project Leader is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, project completion & profitable outcomes for a significantly complex project &/or multiple projects simultaneouslyThis position will require proficient understanding and knowledge of electrical systems including Critical Power, Power Distribution, UPS & Modular Construction DeliveryThe Deputy Project Leader is expected to provide overall development, training & leadership to Junior Project Leadership, Field-Superintendents & Trades personnel as it relates to the strategic planning, overall implementation & ownership of project completionCore Market Sector:
The candidate being considered must have hands-on experience in leading project teams, specialty contracting, coordination & overall project executionThis candidate will be required to hold proven knowledge of complex industries related to Government & Federal Buildings, Power Distribution Centers, along with diverse Military & Air Force Bases with projects located on a national and global scalePosition Requirements:
o Required to hold direct experience & clear understanding with the execution of several phases in the project-life cycle included below:
o Initial Planning & Proposal Creation o Design & Engineering o Project Solutioning o Field Installation o Close-Out Methodso Previous experience & personal exposure to one or more of the following key-solution services including Prime Turnkey Design-Build/Design-Assist & Preconstruction capabilities.o Proven understanding of key-competencies aligned to the project planning; installation & project completion required to ensure overall project-successo Engineering & Design Development o Bid-Package creation & final estimate reviewo Project Schedule development & tracking o Project Financials & Cost Tracking o Business Acumen & Leadership abilities o Ability to develop, maintain & saturate key-industry clienteleo Knowledge & understanding of contract language, with experience in negotiationo Clear understanding of at-risk & mitigation strategies related to construction managemento Experienced in the Commissioning & Testing of diverse specialty systemsPosition
Responsibilities:
o Responsible for ensuring to provide leadership, direction & mentorship to all project-team members to ensure effective collaboration & positive work environments.o Leads a project team in the preparation of project documentation to include project & manpower requirements, project layouts & scheduling of resources, detailed equipment plans & supporting the field-employees as required.o Primarily responsible for coordinating, planning & leading the project kick-off meetings for project teams involved.o Ability to develop a Work Breakdown Structure for the assigned project with properly named work packages & resources assigned to the appropriate tasks to establish a baseline resource plan.o Executes & provides site surveys, cost studies & projected costs, budget forecasting & any additional financial & cost requirements of the contractor-perform work.o Responsible for identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements & execution of best practices.o Ability to measure the project-scope & performance against the project plan to ensure the project is within appropriate cost variances, budget-expectations & schedule timeframes.o Partners directly with the Customer to create & manage the project-schedule if requested.o Timely completion & accuracy of project punch-list items, as-built drawing submittals & ensuring employee accessibility to the appropriate training materials.o Maintains a positive, respectful & productive partnership with all leadership & support-team members including Senior Engineering Leads, Superintendents & Foreman, Junior Project Leadership & Project Controls personnel to achieve project-milestones.o Leads the acquisition of permits & licenses required, along with ensuring that all inspections are appropriately completed within the discussed timeframeEducation, Experience & Technical
Qualifications:
o Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction specific to Electrical Systems, Power Distribution &/or Critical Power industries with a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or an Engineering discipline with a strong preference to Electrical or Mechanical.o 3-5 years of related construction experience with a Master's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.o Required knowledge within construction management functions including self-perform contracting, field coordination efforts, maintenance of schedule & prioritization of deliverable deadlines tied to each specialty-trade simultaneously.o Minimum 5
years of experience & established knowledge in complex markets on projects specific to Federal, Government, Commercial & Mission Critical sectors.o Extensive experience leading diverse teams & projects with construction budgets valued between $2M - $30M
in total contract value.o Ability to properly utilize software including Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office & Excel.o Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance as required for the projectSalary Range:
