Forensic Engineer

The role of a Forensic Engineer within the Transportation and Collision Analysis group involves independent and collaborative work with the Forensic Engineering team, investigative fieldwork, and analysis to determine the root-cause related to motor vehicle collisions or incident events.
The Forensic Engineer will take a hands-on approach to engineering, working in the field and the office.
Essential Functions Conduct investigation of motor vehicle collisions and incidents Analyze evidence, facts, and develop a report of findings Work independently and collaboratively with team members Rapid response to evidence documentation requests Complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner Conduct ethical practices consistently Essential Skills for Performing the Job Self-motivated Problem-solving Familiarity with mechanical systems Detail-oriented Good public speaker, strong written and verbal communication skills Required Education and Experience BS Degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), with a focus in highway geometrics, traffic engineering, and/or construction management with a focus on highway construction projects Prior engineering experience Prior experience in Forensic Engineering dealing with collision analysis is a plus ACTAR or other industry certifications preferred Vehicle design and/or maintenance experience a plus Other Requirements Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to license in other states if necessary (NCEES record holder preferred) Valid Driver's License in good standing, demonstrating safe driving habits, and capable of being insured by our company policy.
Must be able to pass a background check as required for the position Position Type/Expected HoursThis is a full-time position.
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:
00 AM to 5:
00 PM.
Benefits Pay:
$75,000 - $150,000.

An employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
An employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions.
TravelRegular travel will be required as a part of the Forensic Engineer job.
Some periodic overnight travel may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
