Financial Controller Overview:
You will serve as the working leader of the companies' centralized finance and accounting team in Denver with operations in Denver, Bellingham WA, Portland CT, and New Orleans LA where our client is executing multiple Government Contracts focused on Maritime engineering and manufacturing.
You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial guidance and analytics to all levels of management to inform key decision-making in pursuit of the company's financial and operational objectives.
The position requires strong interpersonal relationships with subordinates, peers, senior management, and external contacts regarding the role's functional areas of expertise.
The position has significant interactions with other business areas as required.
The Financial Controller is responsible for:
Plan, direct, and carry out accounting activities to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of designated financial statements and reports; create non-standard reports and variance reviews as required.
Provide leadership for the processing of business transactions across the organization (AR, AP, payroll, expense reporting) ensuring controls are effectively in place and opportunities for continuous improvement of processing efficiencies are executed.

understand detailed data and create a cohesive story based on key performance drivers to communicate to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
In conjunction with the Finance Manager, provide input and leadership into Job cost reporting, variance analysis, labor analysis across various projects.
Cashflow modeling and forecasting.
Provide business/financial analysis and decision support that allows management to evaluate alternatives, make fact-based decisions, and consider the consequences of decisions.
Lead bank reporting, annual financial audit and tax return preparation processes and engage with key stakeholders.
Perform other job duties as directed by the Executive Team or Directors.
Travel will be limited but necessary in support of the Executive Team.
Financial Controller Requirements:
BA/BS in finance or accounting.
8 to 10 years of relevant management experience with ability to lead and inspire.
Project accounting (% of completion rev rec) experience Strong working knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking.
Ability to manage process change including identifying stakeholders, change options, and manage others to a timeline Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Very strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Financial Controller Preferred Requirements:
CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central (ERP) is a highly desired skillset.
Pay range from $130,000-$160,000 a year Recommended Skills Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Analytical Auditing Banking Services Communication Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
