Job DescriptionThe Geographic Information Systems GIS Analyst creates mapping products for NGL's Water Solutions business segment.
This role originates and updates maps and uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications to produce a variety of meaningful data.
The GIS Analyst cultivates a strong understanding of the Water Solutions business.
As part of the Engineering team, this position proactively identifies and provides relevant GIS data, mapping descriptions of projects, and recommends GIS and mapping tools.
General Duties and Responsibilities Generate digitalized mapping products using ESRI tools such as ArcGIS desktop.
Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships and/or display results of analysis using maps, graphs, or tabular data.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on geographic information systems, mapping, and associated data.
Interpret business needs to derive mapping data requirements.
Proactively give technical support to lay users regarding the maintenance, development, and operation of GIS databases, applications, and products.
Create digital representations of GIS data in compliance with RUS (Rural Utility Services) standards.
Interpret aerial photography and ensure integrity of GIS data:
review existing and incoming data for currency, accuracy, usefulness, quality, and completeness.
Act as a data steward of Water Solutions' GIS assets:
Establish, maintain, modify, and update GIS databases.
Input data into GIS databases, using techniques such as coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manual digitizing of maps, scanning or automatic conversion to vectors, or conversion of other sources of digital data.
Convert data collected from field operations into GIS database with proper and accurate spatial location.
Establish standards, implement security/access levels, review data quality, and create business rules.
Improve and patrol Company-wide standards and practices for data conversion, data maintenance and upgrades.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency using GIS software, such as ESRI tools including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, along with demonstrated aptitude for learning new software and mapping tools quickly.
Ability to gather, compile, and analyze GIS data to produce meaningful mapping products.
Strong knowledge of how GIS data drives business decisions, with ability to interpret and supply relevant information to an executive audience.
Ability to geo-reference/geocode data.
Ability to give meticulous attention to detail on a consistent and continuous basis.
Excellent communication skills, with strong internal and external customer service focus.
Fortitude to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment of shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
Flexibility during times of change.
Ability to research, recommend, learn, apply, and implement new mapping technologies.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe suite of products.
Ability to prioritize effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong customer service focus with ability to serve as a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Geography or GIS.
1 - 5 years of experience performing GIS data analysis and producing mapping products, ideally in a commercial environment.
Experience using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst.
Exposure to GIS mobile (field) applications and devices Exposure to or awareness of GIS software programming languages (e.
g.
, Python, Model Builder, JavaScript, C++).
Familiarity with oil and gas infrastructure (water disposal facilities, pipelines, etc.
) is a plus.
Travel:
Up to 10% travel required.

Compensation RangeAnnual Salary:
$65,000.
