How You Will Make a DifferenceWhat you will do:
Manage the design and design processes within Lifestyle Equipment Team.
Collaborate with teammates and cross function partners to drive wholistic design solutions.
Help the Director balance contemporary design aesthetics while maintaining a outdoor DNA that speaks to a broad range of consumers.
How you will do it:
Lead through example by creating outstanding assets and storytelling.
Mentor direct reports and ensure quality their design output.
Receptiveness to feedback and willingness to adapt design throughout the season to better serve our consumer.
What success looks like:
Communication:
Exceptional design communication skills in the form of concept sketching, Illustrator tech packing, presentation clarity, 3D modeling, and rendering.
Present research and trend analysis to build rational and richer storytelling around design decisions.
Collaboration:
Working closely with Product Management, Development, and the Design Director to create highly functional and aesthetically expressive product.
Consulting with Materials, Merchandising, and Creative Services teams to incorporate new technologies, account data, and drive brand alignment.
Leadership:
Manage team deliverables, deadlines, and workload.
Lead humbly but clearly to communicate priorities to junior team member.
Mentor and create career growth plans for direct reports.

Skills for Success Bachelor's degree in industrial/product design 8 years of experience in product design; preferred experience in daypacks and luggage 2 year of people management experience Advanced knowledge of soft goods product construction, trims, and fabrics Additional Optional skills Experience working in large cross functional organizations Adept 3D modeling Hands on soft good prototyping and patterning skills VF Guiding Principles:
