Summary:
The Superintendent will oversee construction of the project in the field, providing leadership to field staff, and ensure successful completion of all trades.
The Superintendent will also work closely with the Project Management team to ensure timely and quality completion of construction process.
They are relied upon to identify project issues and collaborate with all involved parties.
This position requires heavy travel road warrior status due to our type and location of projects.
They are pro-active and self-starters.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ensure project deadlines are held as an utmost priority and are met Prepare, maintain and communicate daily project log with PM.
Logs consist of issues or information relating to schedules, crews, and project Aid in assisting Site Owners, Architects, Designers, Project Manager, and Company in ensuring work site meets all federal and state governmental regulatory and safety protocols:
ensure all parties are in compliance with all sub-contractor employment, immigration, OSHA, and ADA guidelines Responsible for all aspects relating to the scope of work at the job site including but not limited to ensuring arrival, installation, and disposal of all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF & E), coordination and supervision of all subcontractors and quality of work produced, coordinating with all jurisdictional permitting and inspections with offices to ensure compliance Maintain contact with Project Manager to ensure pricing, delivery schedules, defective products and return polices, change order requests, housing workers, and maintain channels of communication between all parties (i.
e.
vendor, procurement, PM, and design/architect).
Maintain timely and open communication with Accounts Payable/Receivable concerning invoices approvals, discrepancies (i.
e.
quantities, pricing, etc.
), expense reports, and vendor credits Follow all Company prescribed form procedures Receive deliveries of materials and supplies and confirm the accuracy and quality of the shipments Implement the Company's Safety practices through adherence to the Safety Manual at all times on the jobsite Assure compliance with the Safety practices by all employees and subcontractors on the jobsite.
Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings Conduct quality inspections of all work performed by subcontractors and assure the work is complete prior to the subcontractors' release from the jobsite Meetings-Attends, contributes and conducts them as needed Ensures cleanliness of jobsite Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work ongoing 7-day workweek schedules Ability to motivate, guide and steer subcontractors Ability to travel road warrior status Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change Ability and endurance to visit/walk entire jobsite, including stairs or other elevated structures Professional demeanor Ability to work in occupied spaces Keen understanding of strict project timelines Computer skills, intermediate at minimum (including, but not limited to email, search engines, receipt tracking, internet navigation etc.
) Work Environment:
Exposure to typical construction environment, heat, cold, noise, and dust Qualifications and Required Experience/ Training:
Valid Driver's License Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, such as forklifts, etc.
Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, and lifting, grasping, talking and hearing Ten or more years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction work experience in the hospitality industry is a plus Construction or Project Management training preferred but not required SAFETY/OSHA and other job related training and certifications, or willingness and ability to obtain these as directed Job Type:
