We seek a dynamic, multi task oriented professional to provide oversight and support for diesel mechanics working on Class 8 tractors and trailers.
The Fleet Maintenance Shop Foreman is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and operational efficiently of the fleet.
They serve as the primary contact concerning the operational usage, maintenance, and control of the company's vehicle fleet.
They will make the ultimate decision whether a vehicle is safe to have on the road in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of DOT fleet equipment such as Class 8 tractors and trailers as needed.
This position doesn't work on equipment.
Scheduling & coordinate regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency Schedule & coordinate annual required DOT inspection for company owned equipment suchas Class 8 tractors and trailers Maintain inventory and orders spare parts as needed through PO system Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules Registering and licensing all vehicles in the fleet Assure the fleet complies with U.

Department of Transport laws and regulations Requirements:
College degree in a business or technical field or one to three years related experience in fleet management experience with Class 8 tractors and trailers preferred.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from agencies or members of the business community.
Experience working in a union environment preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills Attention to detail Exceptional interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
