Job Details Description Brown and Caldwell is looking for a Pipelines and Storage Design, National Specialty Leader to join our Design Services enterprise group. In this role the candidate will serve as the technical leader and developer of the Pipelines and Storage design specialty. This role will define, develop and update all of the technical content associated with Pipelines and Storage to help support all Brown and Caldwell projects and their respective teams including in pursuit, execution, and construction phases. Brown and Caldwell has a long history of being leaders in infrastructure and conveyance systems for the water industry. We plan to build on this foothold and expand our core team of experienced Pipelines and Storage SMEs, to ensure this specialty can continue to support all water and wastewater conveyance projects and their growth within Brown and Caldwell. The focus of this role is to take our current expertise and develop it nationally to support growth in the conveyance market. The ideal candidate should be a strong leader, with the ability to be the center of a growing nucleus of design focused and highly functioning team of SMEs. Our successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude; will be flexible and self-motivated, creative, quality-oriented with attention to detail and be accountable for this specialty. The candidate must have excellent experience in leading the technical aspects of large diameter pipeline and storage facilities in the design delivery process. Detailed Description:
Lead the formalization of the Pipelines and Storage Design Specialty within Brown and Caldwell. Work with our National Technical Practice Leaders and the respective Subject Matter Expert's to develop the BC Way (standards, design guides, reusable content, etc.,) of Pipeline and Storage Facility design in coordination with our established Design Practices (including, Process Mechanical, Structural, Instrumentation, Electrical and Civil practices). Develop marketing materials in support of the Business Units and Client Service Managers. Develop and provide internal training program for BC Client Service Managers, Project Managers, and leadership team, to educate on what our specialty capabilities are and what the respective market support looks like over time. Assemble a team of pumping system specific Design Managers to serve BC needs in each region. Develop relationships and partnerships with industry leading manufactures to advance Brown and Caldwell technical expertise and standards. Connect the appropriate SMEs that can provide conceptual ideas based on available information for proposals and pre-design efforts, to pursuit teams. Assist with proposal development and support project pursuits, including proposal interviews with clients at the request of Client Service Teams. Be an active participant with industry organizations including ASCE. Be familiar with challenges unique to pipeline and storage facility systems throughout the country. Be familiar with the aspects of advanced hydraulics including both closed and open channel flow in various unit process configurations of Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities. Desired Skills and
Experience:
Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental). Minimum of 20 years of related professional experience in infrastructure and conveyance with as an emphasis large diameter pipeline systems design Engineer for both water and wastewater projects. Experience in distribution and collection storage facilities. PE license required and ability to acquire licensure in multiple states as required. Minimum of 10 years' experience of group supervision with 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience in project and/or sub-consultant management. Strong leadership skills and understanding of one's emotional intelligence. Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently, and in both local and remote team environments. Must have experience in proposal development and project pursuit support. Must have experience in presentations to Clients, industry conferences and project teams. Experience in Design-Build project delivery preferred. Candidate must be willing and able to travel, up to 20% of the time. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Colorado Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $152,000 to $200,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. Benefits and Other Compensation:
