Opportunity Overview In this Denver, Colorado based position, the Senior Manager Corporate Reporting leads JM's consolidated internal and external reporting, technical accounting, accounting policy setting and supports business and staff group finance functions with accounting and system expertise. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the position has overall responsibility for managing the company's global consolidated monthly internal reporting, various accounting and closing activities, quarterly external reporting, assessing and improving internal controls, creating and communicating accounting policies, financial planning and analysis, and managing and developing employees. The Senior Manager Corporate Reporting will manage multiple direct and indirect reports for technical accounting and liaison with IT to support and improve JM's financial systems, while supporting the Manager of Accounting Processes, Manager of Fixed Assets, Tax Department, Cash, Credit and Collections, and other staff and business groups. This position will regularly work with IT to support and troubleshoot processes, maintain internal controls, realize the benefits of JM's integrated systems and to drive process improvement. This position is eligible for a flexible work arrangement in which, by way of example, an employee's work week may include both some days at the employee's assigned company work location and some workdays performed remotely from the employee's home. The schedule of remote work will be based on business and work needs as determined by management. Applicants can expect to make between $121,000 to $150,000 upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for a target incentive bonus under our variable incentive plan. Your Day-to-Day:
Develop and execute strategic, operational, and tactical plans to support the Company's Finance Department priorities Manage and coordinate JM's global monthly reporting of results of operations. Implement new and manage technical accounting requirements, including leases, revenue recognition, retiree medical, pensions and other corporate accounting activities Support international operations with system, technical accounting and U.S. GAAP knowledge Work with JM's IT organization to further optimize our single global instance of SAP Troubleshoot and resolve closing/accounting issues with IT and business finance teams Manage internal and external reporting and forecasting requirements and deadlines in conjunction with businesses, overseas operations, Corporate Accounting Processes and other staff groups Compile consolidated external reporting information for submission to JM's parent company. The Manager Corporate Reporting will be a key member of JM's Disclosure Committee, reviewing JM's financial statements and disclosures with the senior leadership team quarterly. Manage preparation of government census and other external reporting Maintain and strengthen internal controls in all related finance activities Work with internal and external auditors to support audit activities and address audit findings in a timely manner Provide direction, guidance and leadership to ensure individual, team and business/functional unit results are achieved Actively develop individuals for future roles within and across the organization Network internally and externally making JM an employer of choice Champion enterprise-wide initiatives and priorities Visibly represent JM internally and externally through active involvement in events and community service Model the JM core values; People, Passion, Perform, Protect Other duties as assigned What You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance CPA or CMA required Prior experience must include at least 15 years in accounting and reporting with a strong knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles Strong management presence with excellent communication, planning, leadership, and mentoring skills Strong SAP background with expertise in FI module or other ERP experience Highly disciplined with the ability to work under strict deadlines Ability to leverage prior experience to identify issues, actively engage in solution management, and interface with a variety of business and staff functions Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills Accountable with an innovative and collaborative management style Solid business acumen Proven ability to work with and influence others Build and manage a highly skilled and high performing team while fostering the understanding that diversity adds strength to teams and improves organizational effectiveness Hands on manager, willing to support staff and businesses with any assistance needed Additional Requirements:
