Position Summary The Senior Product Sales Engineer (PSE) will support our energy resiliency offering in the growing energy storage, cogeneration and microgrid markets. They will have deep technical product knowledge/expertise to support the sales channels, business partners and customers. This role will work through complex and innovative projects requiring the design of new or improved energy solutions for our customers. Day to day work will include evaluating new energy storage and microgrid project opportunities, developing technical and economic proposals, building energy and cost savings models, designing system architecture for energy storage systems, managing interconnection processes, and contributing to technical writing responses for resiliency solutions. Essential Responsibilities Lead and support project development efforts for energy storage, resiliency and microgrid projects with commercial and industrial customers; gathering relevant project information and data; conducting engineering analysis to design system architecture and calculating project costs, savings and revenue opportunity. Collaborate with customers and sales channels to identify, develop, optimize and price, complex projects including microgrids, backup generation, energy storage and renewable energy implementations. Work with marketing and distribution engineering teams to ensure that documentation and technical specifications adequately support projects and the interconnection process to support. Collaborate with business partners to understand issues, industry developments, competitors, market factors, pricing strategies, value proposition, etc. and make recommendations. Lead procurement and project management efforts by developing scopes of work, issuing requests for bids from vendors, and selecting technologies and vendors for project proposals. Responsible for project pipeline management and goal achievement for specific targeted programs and accountable for design and proposal phase of the sales process. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Ten (10) years of work experience within the electric delivery industry which includes five (5) years of microgrid, energy storage, renewable or backup generation experience. Demonstrated understanding of current engineering principles associated with analysis of power systems, electrical interconnection, battery energy storage systems, microgrid controls, backup generation and data monitoring/reporting systems. Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to successfully collaborate with and present to customers to drive major projects. Positive attitude, sense of urgency, and a competitive spirit. Excellent time management skills. Self-starter who works well in fast-paced environment. High technical aptitude. Comfortable and professional on the phone, video, and in person. Demonstrated knowledge of sales processes, electric distribution grids and customer selling. Preferred Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer License from a state within the company's service territory (MN, ND, SD, WI, TX, CO, NM).
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Sales EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
