Your Opportunity You will manage projects independently and lead project teams through all phases of programming, design, and construction. You will lead and mentor the interior design team and work collaboratively with the architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications, FFE and signage. Your Key Responsibilities Managing projects of varying sizes and schedules by overseeing various administrative aspects of the projects, including but not limited to:
coordinating client and consultant contract negotiations, project set-up, invoicing, project planning, project staff scheduling, Responsible for project success and profitability Strong client management skills and internal team managerial skills Strong communication skills Participates in development of the program and other pre-design efforts. Participates in workshop discussions and activities with clients to ascertain cultural and desired project outcomes. Oversee and lead teams in developing space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with building program. Oversee and lead teams in developing the interior design, material palette and FFE through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats to express the design intent and coordinate with Design Architect. Understanding of BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of interiors and their components. Participates in design critiques and pin-ups. Excellent presentation abilities, including ability to present abstract ideas to the client. Works with outside consultants to coordinate drawings sets. Ensures design complies with building codes, ADA guidelines and LEED per project type and requirements. Evaluates and selects interior systems and materials, finishes and fixtures. Coordinates building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent and implements sustainable design principles. Oversee and lead teams in developing interior design in accordance with cost parameters and ensures interior design intent is maintained through documentation and construction. Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating. Completes FFE scope tasks from design and selection through bid, coordinating with specific client and project needs. Adherence to Stantec's required QA/QC process, including design reviews Adherence to Stantec's required internal and external project auditing process Participates and leads business development activities and project interviews Leads project proposals and RFP responses Mentors less-senior Interior Design staff Demonstrates a commitment to the profession and the firm Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Thorough knowledge and application of accessibility codes and applicable building codes. Thorough understanding of all phases of architectural document production through construction administration and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Ability to lead multiple projects and multiple teams simultaneously Ability to create project plans and schedules Accountability to project profitability Demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal and written) Management of team deliverables with client expectations and requirements Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building program. Ability to develop floor plans, elevations, and details. Ability to check teams work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of document production. Ability to engage in creative and critical thought Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material. To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written) Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD; Prefer experience with Abobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, Bluebeam.
