The Main Responsibilities o Processing scheduled maintenance notifications for Federal customers to determine risk assessments, impact level, MOP review o Provide background and scope of work pertaining to fiber maintenance, circuit grooms, equipment maintenance o Cataloging maintenance notifications in GSD NOC database, issue status updates for completed and rescheduled work o Review and evaluate customer maintenance submissions for technical scope and requirements. Coordinate field personnel resources, equipment and test gear. o Conduct fiber and equipment activities and testing with customer o Review OTDR traces for analysis o Logistics support for equipment and component sparing, expedited shipment support and coordination with Field Operations o Manage RMAs, track deliveries to and from vendors to ensure inventory levels, validate and locate missing assets, prepare RMA reports and liaise with vendors for technical support o Research and evaluate project risk - utilize decision making authority to determines solutions for managing the risk o Review and interpret customer expectations in order to manage customer relationship o Lead and maintain client/stakeholder partnership to ensure overall satisfaction o Prepare monthly reports for fiber availability, scheduled maintenance activities, customer network metrics o Liaise closely with other internal departments - Change Management, OSP Engineering, Field Operations, Construction and Splicing teams o Act as an advocate for customer maintenance requirements o Prepare technical documentation for customer fiber routing, new network fiber spans o Participate in customer presentations o Interface closely with Program Offices, Service Managers and Property Management o Website management for technical documentation, processes/procedures and customer information What We Look For in a Candidate o Minimum of 5
years experience with long-haul and metro transport networks, next-generation DWDM wavelength systems o Broad experience with various vendor platforms for optical networks - Ciena, Cisco, Lucent, Tellabs, Fujitsu o Experience with fiber planning, fiber asset databasing, fiber maintenance activities to cover outside plant, fiber splicing, OTDR trace analysis o Demonstrated ability to perform project planning and implementation, develop technical documentation and procedures o Prior NOC experience is preferred o Must be well versed in scheduled maintenance processes, fiber maintenance activities, circuit grooms and 3rd party providers o Ability to relate technical issues to management and Gov't personnel o Previous experience with Gov't networks and customers. Ability to interface in a professional manner with management and customer is essential. o Website management skills to create content, post documentation o Ability to work in a high stress environment, collaborate very closely with peers, strong communication skills o Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, or Networks; or a related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
