The employees in this position serve as permanent, full-time Human Resources Assistants for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 6, located in Lakewood, Colorado.

Provides administrative support assistance for a wide variety of human resources and administrative programs
Performs staffing and recruitment/placement assistance including determining qualifications/eligibility for positions, providing information to managers and applicants, and conducting entry on duty processes for new employees
Completes the full range of benefits and retirement counseling and processing functions
Uses office automation tools and systems to track, manage, and process personnel actions
Evaluates personnel actions and makes accurate determinations, including calculating service computation dates, paysetting, promotion eligibility, etc.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
GS-06: One year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Qualifying specialized experience includes all of the following: utilizing federal human resources regulations and policies to perform federal recruitment/staffing AND benefits support functions to include preparing vacancy announcements in an automated recruitment system; processing a variety of personnel actions in an automated human resource system; and providing information to employees or applicants on recruitment/staffing and benefits related matters.
Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. In addition to the Specialized Experience requirement and any applicable Basic Education requirement, the following competencies are required: (1) Knowledge of federal human resource management rules, regulations and guidelines pertaining to recruitment and placement;(2) Knowledge of federal human resource management rules, regulations and guidelines pertaining to benefits; (3) Skill in making applicant eligibility determinations. (4) Ability to process a wide variety of federal personnel actions; (5) Ability to orally communicate federal human resource issues with a variety of individuals; (6) Skill in office automation tools e.g., Excel; (6) Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Applications are evaluated and rated under Category Rating and Selection procedures. Category rating combines the applicant's total experience and/or education/training into a single category. Full-time work is generally considered to be 35 to 40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in qualifying activities.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
