Gerdau is seeking a Shop Superintendent for its Denver, CO steel fabrication facility.
Relocation assistance is available.
The Denver Shop Superintendent will be responsible for the oversight of the current shop while working with our real estate partner to identify a new shop location. The Shop Superintendent will help design the layout and material flow of the new shop and get it up and running efficiently.
Responsible for:
Direction, supervision and coordination of fabrication and timely delivery of reinforcing steel and concrete accessories.
Producing quality material at maximum productivity and least cost.
Developing requirements for manufacturing equipment material at various production levels.
Proper operation and utilization of equipment to prevent damage and minimize repair.
Advising, instructing and directing subordinate personnel as to objectives, policy and procedures regarding production performance, methods, material, quality, safety, costs and disciplining personnel.
Cooperate with other departments to maintain coordinated efficiency of operation.
Employee selection, evaluation and discipline. Control of shop attendance and turnover.
Carrying out company policy and programs.
Final delivery to the customer in a complete and timely fashion.
Driver compliance of all federal and state DOT regulations.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, Production Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related studies.
2 - 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing / fabrication environment.
Proficiency with MS-Office Suite. Fundamental knowledge of drafting and aSa and/or CAD principals a plus. SAP a plus.
Experience with 5S, Business Systems, Six Sigma preferred.
Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels within and outside the organization is essential. Solid leadership and people development skills. Strong problem solving expertise and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Excellent multitasking and organizational skills. Detail-, team-, and safety-oriented. Change facilitator.
Able to read, write and speak English clearly. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
