Job Summary Under minimal supervision, plans, organizes and implements social work treatment for
clients and families. In addition develops and implements community services. Assesses the
psychological needs of patients and families. Provides intervention to meet those needs utilizing
personal, family and community resources. Provides crisis intervention, brief therapy, case consultation
and collaboration services. Minimum
Qualifications Education: Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college or university.
Experience: Typically, two years of full time post Masters Degree social work practice under the
supervision of a licensed or equivalently qualified social worker or other DORA approved professional
practitioner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of crisis intervention and brief and long term therapy
processes. Knowledge of patient populations' cultural, religious, ethnic, and social systems in
interactions, care planning and education. Knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnosis,
treatment and prognosis and demonstrates this knowledge verbally and in writing. Skill in providing
care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit. Skill in establishing a treatment
alliance and engaging the client system in goal setting and prioritizing. Ability to manage the
professional relationship including termination. Ability to respond to trauma or psychiatric emergency.
Certificate/License/Registration: Licensed Clinical Social Worker/State of Colorado. All
Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued
